Hold Your own Event

Hosting a fundraising event is one of the most effective ways you can help raise funds for FECRI and increase awareness in your community.

A fundraising event may be an ongoing fundraising initiative or a single event.

Each fundraising event helps inform people about the work of FECRI and create greater awareness of our common cause.

In order to fulfil our charitable licensing requirements, FECRI requires every independent fundraiser to be registered and approved by FECRI before the event is held.

Due to limited resources, FECRI employees are not able to assist with the event logistics or PR/marketing for each individual event; however, we value your support and will strive to meet all information requests to make your event a great success.

If you have any questions about holding your own event, please contact Nicole Bartlett on 5320 2037 or events@fecri.org.au.

Check List

Make sure you download and read the Fundraising Application Form

Once you've read the form, this is what you need to do next!

1. Brainstorm
Decide what sort of event you want to host. Hosting your own event should be fun and enjoyable. Be creative - your event is limited as far as your imagination will go.

2. Be informed

Before starting your event preparations, make sure you know all your responsibilities for hosting a fundraising event. Feel free to contact our Events Manager if you have any questions.

3. Register / Submit
You will need to submit an application for your event. You can download this form by clicking here or by contacting our Events Manager events@fecri.org.au. It is important to provide us with as much information about your event as you can, this will help us offer support to your event and approve your event request.

4. Authority to fundraise and FECRI Events Kit
After your event has been approved, you will receive a Letter of Authority and a FECRI Events Kit. This letter will provide you with a fundraising event number and allow you to fundraise on behalf of FECRI. Remember, you should NOT promote your event until you have received your Letter of Authority.

5. Approval of promotional materials
Make sure you only use promotional materials provided to you within your events kit. Anything not provided to you within the kit, will need to be approved by the FECRI Development and Communications Manager prior to printing, production or distribution.

6. Have fun!

Take the time to enjoy the event and spread the 'feel good' feelings that come from supporting a cause that means something to you.

7. Sending funds to FECRI
Once your event is over, tally up the donations raised and send all money back to FECRI. A Remittance Statement is included in the FECRI Events Kit. Returning this completed remittance statement will enable us to ensure we receive all funds and send you a letter of thanks, for your hard work and dedication.

8. THANK YOU and remember you are contributing to unlocking the riddle of cancer!
