BCRC are very grateful to receive support from
a number of generous valued supporters. These people lend their
support at various times throughout the year and help us continue our
work.
St. John of God Hospital Ballarat
Collective vision that a cancer research centre was viable and was
possible in regional Victoria saw the allocation of space by the Sisters
of St John of God Hospital, Ballarat to the Centre in 1998. This
allocation has since grown and the support of St John of God Hospital,
Ballarat has been unwavering. Today the Centre pays only a ‘peppercorn
rent’ to the hospital.
GMHBA Health Insurance
GMHBA Health Insurance has a great community partnership program for NFP's and by simply signing up for GMHBA Health Insurance and mentioning the Ballarat Cancer Research Centre, we will recieve $100 for every family and $50 for every single membership that remain members for three months and are financial. GMHBA are fantastic supporters of the Centre and although our relationship is young in relative terms, we hope this relationship will be fruitful in years to come. Visit their website
www.gmhba.com.au or call (03) 5331 7855 for more info.
Bendigo Bank
If you tag your Bendigo Bank account to BCRC you can make a difference
because Bendigo Bank donates a percentage of the profit it makes on
these tagged accounts to BCRC. Currently this amounts to approximately
$3,500 per month.
Heinz and Partners and WHK Ballarat
Invaluable pro bono support from Heinz and Partners in the area of legal advice,
and from WHK in the area of financial advice and accounting services is
greatly appreciated and ensures our administrative costs are minimised.
Sixtyone Design
BCRC relies heavily on communicating with our supporters by email and
the web to continue to spread our message. Sixtyone Design provides
in-kind support for these services and, as a further commitment, donates
a set amount from each website they design.
Slater and Gordon Lawyers
In 2004 Slater & Gordon established the Asbestos Research Trust
Fund. The Trust’s latest grant to BCRC is $150,000. Peter Gordon from
Slater & Gordon said, “BCRC’s new stream of research into the
relevance of ‘individualised chemotherapy protocols’ with its specific
focus on mesothelioma is of particular interest to the Trust."
WIN Television, Southern Cross Ten, The Courier, 3BA, Power FM, and ABC
Radio provide generous in-kind support that gives us access to wide
media coverage.
